Senior Spokes

Rides for the young at heart — easy ~10 mph pace, good company, and a coffee stop about halfway through.

Before you clip in

—Wear your helmet.
—Bring at least one extra correct-sized tube for your bike.
—Bring water — and remember to actually drink it.
—We stop for coffee and snacks about halfway through every ride.
Rides may be cancelled due to rain or other weather related issues. We have a mailing list where we post our monthly ride schedule and any last minute changes to rides. If you'd like to ride with us, request to join the mailing list below.

Santa Cruz Ride

Meet near Natural Bridges State Park, Santa Cruz — park along Swanton Blvd. before you get to West Cliff Drive.

Address for reference: 2531 West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz.

We'll ride along West Cliff Drive, out along the San Lorenzo River, with a coffee stop along the way.

☕Lunch at the end of the ride: Parish Publick House, Santa Cruz.

Brisbane Marina

Meet in Brisbane, at the parking lot closest to the marina.

From Hwy 101 just past the Oyster Point exit, take Sierra Point Parkway. Turn right at the bottom of the exit, then quickly left on Marina Blvd. Follow it to the lot closest to the marina.
GPS: 7000 Marina Blvd., Brisbane will get you close — drive down toward the water (Dock 5).

Mitchell Park to Edgewood Plaza

Meet at Mitchell Park, Palo Alto — corner of Middlefield Road and East Meadow Way. Closest freeway exit is San Antonio Road.

Go north on Middlefield, then turn left (west) on East Meadow. Use the first parking lot you come to off East Meadow.
GPS: approx. 650 East Meadow Drive.

We'll ride north along San Francisquito Creek and on to the bagel shop at Edgewood Plaza for coffee.

Oracle to Coyote Point

Meet at the parking lot off Oracle Parkway, Belmont.

From Hwy 101 in Belmont, take the Ralston-Marine Parkway exit on the east side of the freeway. Go left at the first light onto Oracle Parkway, then make the first left turn into the parking lot.
GPS: 110 Oracle Pkwy, Redwood City.

This is a flat ride, all on paved bike paths. We'll ride from Oracle to Coyote Point, then return to the Starbucks at Bridgepointe for coffee.

Port-to-Port Ride

Two starting options — pick whichever is closer for you:

Option A · Start 9:30

Meet at Bayfront Park. Take the Marsh Road/Atherton exit from Hwy 101, east to the park entrance.
GPS: 1600 Marsh Road.

Ride north along Haven Ave. to Pacific Shores (bike lane on a busy road).

Option B · Start ~10:00

Begin at Pacific Shores, the office center at the end of Seaport Blvd. From Bayshore 101 take the Woodside Rd./Seaport exit, east on Seaport all the way to the end. When you see the sign for Pacific Shores, turn left and drive about a half mile to the first lot on the left.
GPS: 1315 Seaport Blvd., Redwood City.

From there, we'll ride around Pacific Shores, then along bike paths to the small boat port on Caribbean, around the baylands, and north toward the San Carlos Airport. Most of the route is paved or dirt bike trails plus public streets, mostly with bike lanes.

We'll ride the San Tomás Aquino Trail from Sunnyvale to Santa Clara.

Take Hwy 237 east from Hwy 101. Exit at Lawrence Expressway/E. Caribbean Drive (Exit 5), heading toward E. Caribbean Drive and driving under the overpass. From Caribbean, turn right into the Twin Creeks Sports Complex, just past the Baylands.
GPS: approx. 969 E. Caribbean Dr.

Meet at Seal Point Dog Park, San Mateo. We'll ride up to SFO.

From Hwy 101, take the 3rd Ave. exit east, which becomes J. Hart Clinton Dr. Turn left into the parking lot.

Meet in Half Moon Bay — park along one of the side roads in the residential area on Poplar.

Take Hwy 92 over the hill to HMB. Left at Hwy 1 for almost a mile, then right on Poplar toward the beach.

We'll ride north to Princeton and out to the Point.

Park on Commerce Drive, Fremont.

After crossing the Dumbarton Bridge, take the Thornton Avenue/Paseo Padre exit off Hwy 84. Turn left on Paseo Padre and continue about a mile north to Commerce Drive, across from Patterson Ranch Road, just beyond the red barn.
